I am Jake Langstaff, the owner of Shine Cleaning York LTD. I have spent life since leaving school struggling to find something that I enjoy doing and want to make a career of. I started off as an apprentice electrician, then a carer, then a cleaner, then I started university to become a primary school teacher. Alongside all of these different paths, I was doing acting work, at Hallowscream York, and Whartons Wonderland. I came to realise that I really enjoyed cleaning. I was good at it and I enjoyed it so I thought, why not make a business doing what I love? 

Don't get me wrong, I still love acting and still do any acting jobs I can alongside running my business. As much as cleaning is back breaking work, I love it, and I'm good at it! I love how satisfying the results are and I love the whole process of taking something that's good, and making it perfect! 

I set up the business in January 2024 and it has been growing non-stop since then! With many amazing regular clients, and I now have some amazing staff members helping me! 

I have ADHD, and as much as there are hard times and struggles that come along with ADHD, there are just as many benefits! The hyper focus I get when performing tasks is immense! I can spend hours carrying out a deep clean and because of my perfectionism and hyper focus, I won't stop until it is perfect! So with that being said, I will end this introduction to me and my business with our tagline!
